System Requirements ---------------------- - Supported operating systems: Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP 4. First Time Installation -------------------------- In order to install correctly Landis+Gyr MAP190, a) ensure that you have administrator privileges on your PC b) run 'setup.exe' c) follow the instructions of the setup wizard 5. Upgrade ---------- 5.1 Upgrade of a former Landis+Gyr MAP190 release 5.0 to the most recent release 5.0 The newest release 5.0 automatically replaces any former release 5.0. All data including the license is kept. Procedure:Start the installation procedure (run setup.exe) and confirm the upgrade. 5.2 Upgrade of Landis+Gyr MAP190 4.x, 3.x, 2.5, 2.4 or 2.3 to the most recent release 5.0 The new release can be installed in parallel to a former release 2.3 and up. In this case for the installation a separate directory is required. It is strongly recommended to uninstall the old release because it will no longer be supported. All data including the license is kept. The new browser (since release 4.1) requires an update of all existing databases. The conversion is done automatically after you have confirmed the update. The converted databases can't be accessed with a former MAP190 release anymore. To avoid unwanted loss of data it is strongly recommended to make backups of any local database before conversion (just copy the *.mdb files to a different location). These backups then still can be accessed with a former release if the conversion fails or in case of later inconsistencies. Procedure: 1. Uninstall the old release. 2. Start the installation procedure of the new release (run setup.exe). 3. In case of a parallel installation select a different directory. 5.3 Upgrade of Landis+Gyr MAP190 prior to release 2.3 Former releases are not supported anymore, an upgrade isn't possible. 6.
