Kemin Energia to implement a Landis+Gyr AMM -solution

2008 – Landis+Gyr has signed a contract with Finnish utility Kemin Energia to implement smart metering into 15 000 households. The introduction of an Advanced Metering Management (AMM) solution will improve the utility’s meter reading and invoicing processes and also improve customer service.

The AMM -solution will be integrated into Kemin Sähkö’s Customer Information System using the AIMIA -integration application, which makes the automatic information transfer between the systems possible. The solution will enable the hourly reading of consumption data making it possible for the utility to base their billing on actual consumption data. It also reduces their margin of errors due to automatic information processing.
“The contract we’ve signed is founded on a long and functional relationship with Landis+Gyr and the experience we’ve had with their previous product generation. With the acquired AMM -solution we can collect metering data using the SiteManager application and utilize the AIMIA -integration application in the automatic transfer of consumption data into our own Customer Information System,” says Petri Lento, Project Manager, Kemin Energia.
In addition to the AMM -system, the contract also includes the delivery of meters and communication units. In a point-to-multipoint solution, data is transferred from meters to a concentrator via plc-connection and further to the AMM -system with GPRS-connection.
